hello to all of you. I'm a student at Christian Brothers University working on a research paper about ahimsa. I would like to know if there is anyone who would be willing to answer a few questions for me. I will greatly appreciate it and thank you. Before I go into my questions I would first like to say that I am always glad to learn something new and this semester learning about other religions has been a blessing to me. Before I had never heard of Jainism but now that I have I think that I am one step ahead of where I was yesterday. QUESTIONS: would a jain sacrifice his or her life for the sake of another person? For instance if someone was drowning or caught in a fire. how would a jain react if another jain was being attacked? what do jains feel about animals eating othr animals and do they have karma

I came on this site to do a project about a religion that I was interested in learning about. Once I started reading the books I knew I wanted to learn the basics of Jainism. Myself am a half-whhite & half-black person who is mainly a christian. Although I find some similarities in the jain culture. Thanks for letting others learn your religion. I had a great time learning and may one day visit one of the famous Historical sites.

Its great to know that there are Jain literatures available on Net. But all the Jain sites I visited needs more attention towords Content Management and its implementaion apart from making it more attractive. Also there is a need for the advertising of the Jain Sites to the world community there by making it accessible to most of the people across the world. Thanks & Regards Rajesh K Jain

Hi ! WHen I was at home, I was never wondering about why we(Jains) celebrate the festivals the way we do and follow the rituals the way we do. I had no answers to these questions, when some friends used to ask me at the Hostel in my Engineering. Then, I started my pursuit to look for some books on the fundamentals of our religion. I am sorry that I could not find many books in many a popular book stores in India, and that too which would give me basic info about hte foundation of our religion. I happened to make this search on the NET, when in Japan. That is when I found this site. I found this site very informative on the very bascis that I always wondered about. And so, I feel that I now have some means to upgrade my knowledge. I hope you keep on upgrading the site and adding some more information abo

My husband is Jain, when I met him I did not have any knowledge of Jainism. Before marriage my family visited his family, he took me to many Jain temples throughout India. What fascinated me the most is how Jainism believes in life and non-violence. He spoke of the Navkarmantra, and I felt that I would not be able to recite these 9 lines, and now to my suprise I say the mantra before I go to sleep and during waking ours I am always reciting it. It gives me peace of mind. Jai Jinendra Bina J. Shah

I had plan to contribute something related to Jainism on net from last one year and I never knew so many things are already there.
