Essence of Jainism: succinct summary of Jainism - requires a lot of thinking on the readers part

Pujya Lalchandbhai Amarchandbhai Modi described this as the essence of all Jainism:

હું જાણનાર છું; હું કરનાર નથી. જાણનારો જણાય છે; ખરેખર પર જણાતું નથી

Lippy Gujarati: Hu jananar chu, hu karnar nathi.
Jananaro janay che, kharekhar par janatu nathi.

Translation: I am a knower, I am not a doer.
The knower is being known, in reality non-self is not known.
(Pujya Lalchandbhai Amarchand Modi)

Pujya Gurudev Shree Kanji Swami's quotes on the same topic:

(Pujya Gurudev - Front cover of Atmadharm July 1999, Front Cover)

Lippy Gujarati:Gneyakar avasthama pan te gnaannu parinaman gnayakpanay janay che matay jey janai che te chij nahi pan tema jarnaro janai che.
(Purusharthprernamurti Pujya Gurudev - Atmadharm, July 1999, Front Cover)

Translation: Even in the object-knowing state, that knowledge transition is being known as the knower, therefore that which is known, is not that object, but the knower is being known in that (state).

Lippy Gujarati: Siddh che te jarnanaar-dekhnaar che. Tem tu parn jarnanaar-dekhnaar j cho. Adhura purano prashna j nathi. Jarnanaar-dekhnaarthi jarik khasyo aaetle kartutvamanj gayo. Aaetle siddhothi joodo padyo. Aaek xarn siddhthi joodo pade te mithyadrasti che. Te yatharth vaat che.
(Purusharthprernamurti Pujya Gurudev - first thing every morning Lalchandbhai used to pray to Gurudev and remember this quotation)
